![]() ![]() A leader always puts the needs of others before theirs, and thinks before acting. To be a better leader I must leave my selfishness behind and adopt a mentality that allows me to put others before myself, similar to the dragonfly. And she will help me remain calm in demanding situations. My leadership traits could always use a change in perspective. I hope that whenever I need a bit of guidance the dragonfly will lead me to the knowledge I was searching for. The dragonfly can show me to be more of a listener and a gentle being. However, the dragonfly is very easy going, whereas I tend to be a bit more analytical. ![]() We are passionate beings and we refuse to take no for an answer, as a dragonfly I like my voice to be heard, although others might not agree with my opinions. A similarity the dragonfly and I share is leadership and we strive to overcome obstacles. I want to be open-minded, openhearted and a source of light. I am one with the dragonfly and it is a part of me now. I am a human being in the process of growing and learning. I am a positive person who sends out optimistic vibes, I surround myself with upbeat people and I consider my good attitude to be contagious, “openheartedness and acceptance will allow you to hear, see, and feel them.” Farmer also said that a person with the dragonfly as their totem was “an emotionally intense and very passionate individual since childhood.” I was exactly that as a child. The dragonfly is a magical animal in my eyes, its delicate wings and simple structured body reminds me of the animals ability to “restore our forgotten childlike wonder at the world, and they reawaken our lost belief in magic, dreams and possibilities.” The dragonfly as described by Steven D. I am excited to venture out into nature with the dragonfly as my totem animal, attempting to learn and grow. I chose to commit to character as I wrote from the point of view of a Native American and as a dragonfly. This journey as a Native American evolved in my mind through the help of meditation but the impact of the dragonfly resonates with my past and my present. When I want my voice to be heard I let my wings do the talking, fluttering them with excitement when I am passionate about something. Something that comes naturally to me is leadership I lead the way for other critters. When confronted with an obstacle I won’t give up until I find a way to overcome it. Sharing my knowledge and thoughts is one of my favorite things to do, sometimes others need help, and I am more than willing to offer assistance. My predators stay on the ground, they don’t see me because I enjoy fluttering above them. My wings are my pride they allow me to view the world from a different perspective. My mind is an open canvas, ready to absorb and relate. Now I am a dragonfly, I “dance and flit” through life. At last, the dragonfly has presented itself to me! My body was at ease as I watched their performance, I understood what they were telling me, and we could communicate. I was intrigued so I kept paddling I looked up and saw the source of the noise, the skies were covered by a blanket of what appeared to be fairies, or were they stars? No, they were beautiful dragonflies dancing as one. As I traveled down the river there was a noise creeping closer. The night was beautiful and the weather was perfect. I looked around and I saw a small boat with oars, automatically I got in and started to paddle. I could see the moon it sparkled brighter than I had ever seen it. I had landed in a river, the water was crystal clear, and the sky was pitch black. When I stepped inside this tree I stumbled and fell for an enormously long time, finally landing in water. My dreams were bizarre, I ran fast for a long time until I came across a door attached to a tree, my conscience told me to walk in. ![]() ![]() All of this walking has made me sleepy I decide to lie down and give my feet a break. I have now walked in the woods all day, growing tired and hungrier by the second. I have ventured out into the woods, by myself, in hopes that my spirit animal will appear. My time has come to search for a spirit animal. My name is Helen, a Native American I belong to the winged tribe. ![]()
